Our website is currently undergoing a rebuild and update. We appreciate your patience during this process.
The WAA, located in the John Neilson Gallery, is a community arts group formed to encourage and promote art and artists from the regional area. Inquiries and new members are always welcome.
The Wurtsboro Art Alliance was organized at the initiative of John Neilson in the spring of 2005. We are a non-profit 501-c-3 organization formed to encourage and promote art and artists, both beginner and established, from the regional area. Having acquired a gallery space, due to the generosity of the Town of Mamakating and the Village of Wurtsboro, we work together to provide the public with a dynamic and versatile presentation of artwork depicting the surrounding area and the world at large.
We are non-judgmental and our monthly exhibits are open to all members. We offer free and tuition classes to the public, young and old, in many disciplines. We have grown from the original 6 members to over 30 in a very short time. Come visit us at 73 Sullivan St, in the beautiful and historic village of Wurtsboro NY.
Our gallery represents a diverse group of emerging and established artists from around the area. The gallery displays a wide variety of art, from pottery to photography, print making to fiber art, and so much more.
We are passionate about discovering new talent and supporting the careers of our artists, and we work closely with them to develop their work and create opportunities for them to showcase their art.

The WAA offers classes and workshops conducted by our talented members. Some of these are made available as a result of grant money awarded by the Delaware Valley Art Alliance (DVAA) and other are conducted internally through the WAA. They range from free (donations accepted) to a preset cost.
