Wurtsboro Art Alliance (WAA) was organized at the initiative of John Neilson in the spring of 2005. We are a non-profit 501-c-3 organization created to encourage and promote art and artists, both beginner and established, from the regional area.
Thanks to the generosity of the Town of Mamakating and Village of Wurtsboro, we acquired a gallery space at 73 Sullivan Street, named The John Neilson Gallery. Here we work together to provide the public with a dynamic and versatile presentation - and appreciation - of the arts.
We're a non-judgmental bunch and have grown from our original six members to over 30 in a very short time. Our monthly exhibitions are open to all WAA members and open to the public for viewing. Additionally, we offer free and paid classes for the community, young and old alike, in many creative disciplines.
We invite you to come visit us at 73 Sullivan Street, in the beautiful and historic village of Wurtsboro NY!
Inquiries and new members are always welcome!

WAA is comprised of a diverse group of emerging and established artists from around the area. The John Neilson Gallery displays a wide variety of art, from pottery to photography, print making to fiber art, and much more.
We're passionate about discovering new talent and supporting the careers of our artists, and we work closely with them to develop their work and create opportunities for them to showcase their work.

WAA offers classes conducted by our talented members. Some are made available as a result of grant money awarded by the Delaware Valley Art Alliance (DVAA) while others are conducted internally through the WAA. They range from free (donations accepted) to a preset cost.
Sign up to hear about upcoming exhibitions, classes and more.
We love visitors, so feel free to stop in during business hours.
