FREE PUBLIC ART WORKSHOPS & DEMONSTRATIONS

May 13th and May 27th: Saturday
“Plein Air Painting Demonstrations”
with David Munford

Will give 2 free Plein Air Paining Demonstraions at the WAA gallery. These will be free and open to the public. No pre-registraion required. Demonstrations will take place outside in the garden or somewhere near the gallery.

Donations welcome.

“Paper Quilling”
with Beth Guarneri

Let’s learn the art of paper quilling to design and create pictures. All supplies provided.

Maximum class 10.

“Create Your Own Jewelry”
with Patricia Blanco

Learn the basics of jewelry making. Learning to choose designs, tools, beads, and materials to create your own unique designs. Could include necklace, bracelet and earrings.

June 11th: 12:30-2:30pm – Sunday
“Demonstration of Watercolor Pouring”
with Janet Campbell

Janet will demonstrate steps in the pouring of watercolor paints as a way to create a painting. Beginning with composition attendees will see how the paints are mixed with water, how using masking fluid works, and how layer of paints are poured. No age restrictions.

Maximum 20 attendees.
$5 donation suggested.

“Button Art”
with Patricia Blanco

Introducing a tactile form of art with the use of buttons (and other findings) suitable for decorating and producing forms on flat canvas surfaces. Learn to use grades of color and texture to enhance the look of an array of pictures, ie, flowers, trees, animals, etc.. Materials provided but bring any old buttons or small jewelry pieces if you want.

2 hours.
Maximum 12 students per class.

“Jewelry Creations”
with Sue Petry

Using metal, beads, wire, etc. to create your own earrings, necklace or bracelet. Hands on instruction.

All materials provided.

“Montanka Doll Workshop”

We will explore what it’s like to paint outdoors in local beautiful settings. Mountain, lakes, vistas, etc. We will go over the anatomy of trees, perspective in drawing buildings, and how to use color and values to create distance in your painting.

“How to Paint Outdoors like French Impressionists”
with Pearl Lau

We will explore what it’s like to paint outdoors in local beautiful settngs. “Charcoal Still Life Drawing”

In this workshop the following techniques will be explored.

1. Drawing with charcoal/white pastel.
2. Use of “stump” estompe and kneaded eraser.
3. Value study.
Class is 2 hours
