About the Wurtsboro Art Alliance

The Wurtsboro Art Alliance, located in the John Neilson Gallery is a community arts group formed to encourage and promote art and artists from the regional area. Inquiries and new members are always welcome.

The Wurtsboro Art Alliance was organized at the initiative of John Neilson in the spring of 2005. We are a non-profit 501-c-3 organization formed to encourage and promote art and artists, both beginner and established, from the regional area. Having acquired a gallery space, due to the generosity of the Town of Mamakating and the Village of Wurtsboro, we work together to provide the public with a dynamic and versatile presentation of artwork depicting the surrounding area and the world at large.

We are non-judgmental and  our monthly exhibits are open to all members.  We offer free and tuition classes to the public, young and old, in many disciplines. We have grown from the original 6 members to over 30 in a very short time. We have a diverse and prolific group of artists, from potters to photographers, print makers to fiber artists, and more. Come visit us at 73 Sullivan St, in the beautiful and historic village of  Wurtsboro NY.
