This workshop will focus on the basics of painting outdoors (“en plein air”) and is suitable for the beginner as well as intermediate level artist. We will discuss equipment and materials, choosing a subject, the use of preliminary sketches, composition, value, and color. Participants will learn concepts and tips while gaining practical experience helping them achieve better results in their painting.

On the first day, the group will meet and work at the WAA gallery; on the second and third days, meet on locations nearby, including the Bashakill Wildlife Management Area; the final day we will plan to paint in the Village of Wurtsboro. Works created during this workshop will be eligible to be included in the WAA Gallery’s July exhibit.
